（ought to，need，dare，used to）的用法，本來前幾天就應該分享給大家的，但是編輯好之後手抖不小心給刪掉了，神傷啊！最近工作又比較忙，所以給拖到了今天，望大家見諒。廢話少說，Here we go！

——Ought to

Ought to 之後接原形動詞

用ought to來談論願景或理想的事

例：

They ought to build more parks in the city centre。（他們應該在城市中心建更多的公園）

We ought to eat lots of fruit and vegetables every day。（我們每天應該吃大量的水果和蔬菜）

ought to也可表推論，譯為“應當會”

例：There ought to be some good films at the cinema this weekend。（這週末電影院應當會有一些不錯的電影）

Since he works hard，he ought to （should）succeed（由於他很努力，應該會成功）

Ought to have + 過去分詞 本應當……

Ought to have + 過去分詞

用來傳達過去的理想或理想狀況，但並沒有發生，傳達出某種遺憾，等於

should have + 過去分詞

例：

We

ought to have locked

the gate。 Then the dog wouldn’t have got out。 （我們本應該鎖門的，那樣狗就不會出去了）

——Need

need同樣為半情態動詞，作情態助動詞時，主要用在否定句中，與not連用，後接動詞原形。

We

needn’t spend

much time on this topic。（我們不需要花太多時間在這個話題上）

在疑問句中，need可做助動詞或一般動詞

例1：Does he need to go？（一般動詞）

例2：Need he go？（助動詞）

他需要去嗎？

needn’t have + 過去分詞 本不需要……

用來表示已經發生了但說話者覺得沒有必要的事

You

needn’t have waited

for me。（你本不需要等我的）

You

needn’t have bought

so much food。 （你本不要買這麼多實物的）

need也可做一般動詞，具有人稱及時態的變化，之後接不定式短語或名詞作賓語。

例1：I need to have my hair cut。（我需要去理髮）

例2：He needs an umbrella。（他需要一把傘）

——dare

dare做助動詞用在否定句或疑問句中，

否定句型：dare not + 動詞原形

例：He dare not hit me。（他不敢打我）

疑問句型：dare sb。 + 動詞原形

例1：Dare he go there？（他敢去那兒嗎？）

例2：Daren’t he go there？（他不敢去那兒嗎？）

dare作一般動詞可用在陳述句，否定句，疑問句中，但後面通常接to，to可以省略

陳述句：If Sally dares （to） go there again， she’ll be in big trouble！（如果薩利敢再去那裡，她會有大麻煩）

否定句：He doesn’t dare （to） go there。 （他不敢去那兒）

疑問句：Doesn’t he dare （to） go there？ （他不敢去那兒嗎？）

dare也可作及物動詞，表“向某人挑戰之意”

dare sb。 to + 動詞原形

= challenge sb to + 動詞原形

例：He dare me to jump the stream。（他挑戰我越過這條小溪）

——used to

used to 為助動詞，之後接原形動詞，譯為“過去曾經”

例：He used to live there（他過去曾住在那裡）

He used to play football for the local team（他曾效力於當地足球隊）

疑問句中，最常用的形式為“did sb. use to ……”

例：Did you use to work with Kevin Harris？（你過去曾和凱文哈里斯工作嗎？）

注意

下列結構中used不是助動詞，而是use的過去分詞，
