Lesson 48 Supper with the Bradshaws

Dear Danny， How are you these days？

親愛的丹尼，你這些天好嗎？

Are you ready for Christmas？

你在為聖誕節做準備嗎？

My Australian pen pal， Bruce， and his father， came to visit me the day before yesterday。

我的澳大利亞筆友，布魯斯，和他爸爸，前天來我家了。

Last night， my parents invited them to our home for dinner。

昨晚，我父母邀請他們來我們家吃飯。

At the end of the meal， Mr。 Bradshaw opened a box of cookies he had brought from home。

飯後，布拉德肖先生打開了他從家帶來的一盒餅乾。

He then passed the box to everyone。

然後他把盒子傳遞給每一個人。

We each took a cookie and ate it。

我們每個人都吃了一塊。

The cookie tasted like chalk to me！

餅乾吃起來有點像粉筆。

But in good Chinese tradition， I told Mr。Bradshaw that I enjoyed it。

但是出於中國傳統，我告訴布萊德肖先生我很喜歡。

At the airport today， Mr。Bradshaw gave me a big box of the same cookies as a gift。

今天在機場，布萊德肖先生給了我一盒一模一樣的餅乾作為禮物。

I don‘t know what we’ll do with them。

我不知道我們應該怎麼做了。

I couldn‘t help but laugh when I read your e-mail。

I can imagine your reaction when you received the cookies。

我能想象出你收到餅乾時的反應。

Maybe you can send them to me。 I love all kinds of cookies。

或許你能否把他們寄給我，我喜歡各種各樣的餅乾。

But I think you were polite to react that way。

但是我想你那樣說是出於禮貌。

I love Chinese culture。 I wish everyone here， especially Debbie， could learn some Chinese manners。

我喜歡中國文化。我希望這裡的每個人，尤其是德比，能夠學一些中國禮儀。

Debbie dreams of being a police officer。

德比夢想著能成為一名警官。

She once said that she hoped to have a toy gun as a Christmas gift， so I bought one for her。

她曾經說過他希望有一個玩具槍作為聖誕禮物，因此我給她買了一把。

But when I gave it to her， she said she wanted a doll！

但是當我給她時，她說她想要一個洋娃娃！

She changes her mind so quickly！

她的主意變化得可真快！

Though I was a little hurt， I still enjoyed Christmas very much。

We had a lot of fun。

We are planning another trip to Chinatown during the Spring Festival。

我們計劃春節期間再去一次唐人街。

I love festivals。

我喜歡節日。
