A speed of 5 kmh 與the speed of light的冠詞感覺

The speed of light的讀法為the （speed of light）。“光速“是短語名詞，該短語名詞按字面意義足夠”定“（definite），所以前面加了定冠詞the。

A speed of 5km/h的讀法為（a speed） of （5 km/h）， 也就是 a speed是5 km/h的同位語。

5 km/h按理說足夠definite，不過所有數值物理量都是definite。我們知道definite article需要啟用受話人腦細胞去補充“定”的資訊，因此耗費認知成本，所以能不用定冠詞就不用定冠詞，以減輕受話人的認知負擔。比如專有名詞足夠定，但一般不加定冠詞，也是這個道理。

既然5 km/h當作不定對待了，前面的同位語speed自然也就不定冠詞啦！

如果【例句1】的the age of five改成an age of five， 給說話人的感覺有多個age of five， 而an age of five是從中挑出一個。

對於物理量而言，從5 km/h， 到5。1 km/h是分分鐘的事情，所以更容易從多箇中挑一個，即a speed of 5km/h。
