中考英語之other, others, the other, the others, another

英語中有一組詞，對於同學們來說極難區分，它們就是 other， others， the other， the others， another。 今天用我的角度講一下，期望同學們能理解性的掌握。下面按照由易到難的順序依次講解。

第一組 other和others

這兩個詞是一組，意思相同，都是剩餘中的一部分，唯一不同的是他們的詞性。other是形容詞（adj），它的後面可以加名詞的複數。而others既然已經加了“s”，那它一定是一個名詞，而且是複數。一句話others = other + 名詞複數。這一組詞常用於some ……。 other + 名詞複數 / others …… 句型之中。請看下圖咱們舉個例子。

other， others

我有6個球，兩個是紅色的，其餘的兩個是黃色的。（還有兩個藍色的，所以2個黃色的是除去紅色的之外，剩餘的一部分，但不是全部。）

I have 6 balls。 Two of them are red， and other balls / others are yellow。

第二組 another

another的意思與 other和others很不同，它的意思是剩餘部分中的一個，所以它本質上是單數。但是它的詞性有兩個：既是形容詞也是名詞。

another

我有7個球。有兩個是紅色的，還有一個是藍色的。（除去2個紅色的，剩餘5個球中的一個。）

I have 7 balls。 two of them are red， and another / another one is blue。

第三組 the other 和 the others

先看 the others 。 與others一樣，它也是“s”結尾，所以它也是一個複數名詞，它的意思是剩餘的全部。

the other 最複雜。首先它有兩個詞意：1。 其餘的全部，與 the others 呼應，後面加名詞的複數，在這個詞意下，它是一個形容詞。 2。 兩個中的另一個。在這個詞意下，它有兩個詞性，名詞以及形容詞，名詞後不加東西，形容詞後加名詞的單數。一般如果要考察這個用法，在題的前半部分一定會出現“two”。

我有兩個球，一個是紅色的，另一個是黃色的。

I have 2 balls。 one is red， and the other / the other one is yellow。

剩餘的全部

我有6個球、有兩個是紅色的，其餘的全部都是黃色的。

I have 6 balls。 Two are red and the other balls / the others are yellow。

分析：1。 詞性。 空白處所缺詞為主語，必須是名詞，D不選。2。 單複數。 空白處後面是複數謂語“are”， A不選。3。 the other 只有在意思為兩個中的另一個時，有名詞的詞性，但是又和“are”衝突，所以B不選。4。 只剩下C 選項了，用了some ……。 other + 名詞複數 / others …… 句型。

2。 I have two uncles，one is a doctor and _____ is a teacher。

A。 the other B。 another C。 other D。 another one

分析：1。 詞性。空白處所缺詞為主語，必須是名詞，C不選。2。 題的前半部分有“two”，所以我們就可以選擇A the other。

3。 I have three pens。One is red，____two are black。

A。another B。other C。the other D。the others

分析：1。 詞性。 空白處所缺詞修飾“two”，必須是形容詞，D不選。2。 單複數。 空白處後面是複數“two”以及複數謂語“are”， A不選。3。意思。根據題意，剩餘的全部兩隻鋼筆是黑色的，所以B不選，因為other的意思是剩餘的一部分，而不是全部。4。 只剩下C 選項了，剩餘的全部，形容詞的詞性，複數。
