Ape

ape，通常表示生活在非洲和東南亞的各種大型無尾半直立靈長類動物，如黑猩猩、大猩猩、長臂猿等。

而當 ape 作動詞用時，則表示笨拙的模仿。而且這種模仿，通常不是單維度的，而是全方位的。

She apes the speech and manners of the rich。

Fox

fox， 狐狸，以狡猾而出名，而這源於狐狸在民間傳說中的形象，比如伊索寓言中“狐狸與烏鴉”的故事。所以在英文中，也有像“sly as a fox”這類的習語。

而當 fox 作動詞用時，有“以計謀取勝”、“使…困惑”的意思。

Rat

rat，老鼠，這種有著尖尖鼻子、細長尾巴的齧齒動物，總讓人產生骯髒和瘟疫的聯想。而這可能是因為，在歐洲大瘟疫時期，流竄於商船上的老鼠皮毛中，寄生著的跳蚤，攜帶著導致瘟疫爆發的細菌。

儘管如此，老鼠也是備受歡迎的寵物，而且經常被用作實驗室的研究物件。

雖然老鼠沒有特定的動作，延伸出 rat 作動詞時的含義。但“rats fleeing a sinking ship”這類習語，卻讓rat有了“背叛、拋棄、對…不忠”的含義。

Squirrel

Parrot

parrot， 鸚鵡，不是唯一可以模仿聲音和語音的鳥類，但它們因為能夠模仿複雜的人類語言脫穎而出。
